4 Days : Marrakesh – Ouarzazate – Merzouga – Dades – Marrakesh

the deep south of Morocco, the Draa Valley stretches from the city of Ouarzazate into the Sahara Desert. The Draa Valley is a stunning oasis home to Berber villages, sumptuous Kasbahs, streaming sand dunes, lush green plains, snow-capped Atlas Mountains, endless stretches of palm trees and the Draa, Morocco’s largest river. It is no wonder that the valley has become famous for its Kasbahs.

After tansikht , through the beautiful desert and mountainous landscapes,nkob and msissi , we arrive to rissani, ancient city of sjilmassa and ancient capital of Tafilalet(big oases in africa), A former major caravan center, Rissani remains a major commercial center in the region, with a large souk, particularly lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. It is noted for its leather and goat skin trading.

The mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, third great-grandfather of Moulay Cherif, founder of the Alaouite Dynasty of Morocco, is located on the southern edge of town ;  Then towards Merzouga and the desert where you can watch the sunset over the dunes. Dinner and overnight at the camp at the foot of the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Medieval traveller Ibn Batuta wrote about visiting Sijilmasa (near Tafilalt) in the fourteenth century on his journey from Fez to Mali, « the country of the blacks ». It was later destroyed in 1818 by the Aït Atta, but its ruins remain, including two gateways

Erfoud is  an oasis town in the Sahara Desert  famous for its fossilized marbles, Due to its proximity to Merzouga desert village in the Erg Chebbi Dunes, Erfoud has developed tourist-related infrastructures to facilit acces to big desert.

The Dadès Gorges are a series of rugged wadi gorges carved out by the Dadès River, overnight in calm atmosphére .

The Dades Valley has a wild landscape, with snow on one side and semi-desert on the other, its savage grandeur and unearthly silence can be equalled only by the Grand Canyon. The Berbers erected hundreds and hundreds of Kasbahs in this valley.

The Kasbah Amerhidil is part of Skoura palm grove alongside more),  we continue to ouarzazate,felming location and the official residence of the Glaoui family (cinema studios , kasbah taourirt). After lunch we continue to marrakech through amerzgane and ighrem a stunning mountains  home to Berber villages, in the cool shadows of the Atlas Mountains, we continue to marrakesh .

NOTE :Possibility of  ONE day more  betwen Ourzazate and merzouga : Zagora in draa valley
